Show SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, DECEMBER No. i3. Vol. School Election Wednesday The school election take3 place next Wednesday. Owing to the unprinci-- ' board cf education, unusual interest is being taken in the election. The attack on the echool system and the glaring falsehoods published in regard to it is simply a continuation of the Kearn3 revenge policy, and should be decisively rebuked by the people Gentiles and Mormons alike. The con - stant reiteration cf the falsehoods may lead some to believe there is at least some truth in the Tribune's statements, but those who have taken the trouble to make even a superficial in- The Herald, to its usual custom, is in a vestigation, know better. according covert and sneaking way aiding the Tribune. The Herald has to pursue that course, because it is coni roll 2d and largely owned by the same people as own and control the Tribune, and they always use the Herald as a tali for the Tribune's kite. Part of the Kearns Programme, The Tribunes despicable fight on the Salt Lane City schools is part of the Kearns programme to force the reelection of Kearns to the senate. It is waged for no ether purpose. Tom dies very hard, but his politcal death is certain. Saltpeter wouldnt save him now. The school fight goes merrily on. The Americans, although they have lost a man in the fifth precinct by the withdrawal from their ticket of W. J. Halloran and have not yet found another victim, are going to pul up a stilt fight, especially in the First and 8econd precincts. There is no truth whatever in the Tribunes statements thit the schools are under control of the Mormon ecclesiastics, or that any attempt is being made or going to be made to pace the schools under Mormon or other sectarian domination. If a miracle however would and the Americans elect their, happen the ticket, schools would immediately be brought under sectarian rule. The few Mor-moemployed in the schools, only 20 Per cent of the whole, would have to ali the plank in short order and an attenrpt would be made to Presbyter-mnlze- , m or Baptistize, or Methodlstize as was done when Dr. Millspaugh was superintendent and B.
