So many stories have been told and written about the Judge Johnson, District Attorney Livingston incident, down in San Pete county, that perhaps a statement of the real facts of the case, as related to Truth, will be of interest. Those who have read the daily papers will recall that there was a fierce fight between the two men mentioned for the nomination for district judge. Livingston won out. But before the convention the pair had a tilt in court which received all sorts of publicity. A case was pending; a criminal case, which the district attorney asked to be continued for the term. Judge Johnson spoke up to the effect that he was opposed to continuing this case, because he had been Informed that Livingston was doing it to obtain political advantage over him, Johnson. Livingston retorted by demanding the name of the courts informant, and the latter replied that he would not disclose it. Of course, this was nuts for the newspapers. Both country weeklies and city dallies vied with each other in giving the matter all publicity. But to date nene of them have endeavored to explain the case in point, so that the public might have a chance to judge which was right and which was wrong. As a matter of fact the defendant in the action, was H. P. Bosen, a shoemaker, whose shop is a few doors north of Truth office, on West Temple street. His attorney is Soren X. Christensen, also of this city. Both business ability and has made hosts of friends since he has been in Salt are Lake. residents this of will receive it. of a . He is a poor man and to have taken him to trial at that time would have worked a severe hardship on him and the children, so his attorney asked Livingston to continue the case for the term, without V. y arraignment and tho district attorney consented. That is all there is to it. A detail of the case would do no one any good, save and except it may be stated that while perhaps Bosen was a violator of statutory law, he was at the time endeavoring to protect the honor of a woman, a relative of his own. There let the matter rest A tempest has been raised in a tea pot and a whole lot of guff has been indulged in that might as well been left unsaid. o LEGION.
