As a result nf thle inefficient system of operations the point was reached where the future of the entire district was imperiled and necessitated unifica tion under one operating com- pany. this was accomplished in 1910, with acquisition by Ana- conda of the greater portion of the producing area, Mr. Kelley explained. During the since 1910, Anaconda hasperiod centralized and standardized the operation and effected an efficient and organization which together now assures many years of production from the famous hill.. During the years 1914 to 1918, Anacondas mines at Butte contributed 1,109,206,000 pounds of fine copper to the worlds supply and, after continuous operation the interval, produced 1,127,-660,0pounds of copper during the years 1940 to 1944, inclusive, notwithstanding ah increasing shortage of available in addition to which manpower, there was added the output of zinc and manganese, Mr. Kelley stated.
