Practically all of the employed are present or potential candidates for membership, but they can be assimilated only as fast as projects can be organized, and shipments and materials obtained for them to work with. Hence, at present for every unemployed applicant accepted there must be a member taken in who is This ratio will hold, however, only until the tannery and like productive projects begin operation, when the unemployed can be more rapidly assimilated. To date, estimating that more than 50 per cent of the present membership were unemployed until admitted to membership, it will be seen that the - FIVE Does he represent the common people or is he the representative of the big corporations? Headquarters and Business I July 1, 1432, a produce market was I opened in the Keith Emporium building. August 13th, it was moved to its present location on West Broadway. It has on hand merchandise inventoried at $2500.00 and fixtures and equipment of the same value. Trucks owned and used by the association are valued at EDUCATIONAL DEPT. STORY A poor man who is counted for naught as the old system measures men, came in Saturday to transact a little business. He lingered a while in the office and talked. He was found to have a very sympathetic nature and a good mind stored with much practical and useful knowledge. He was very enthusiastic about N. D. A. and related the following story: I saw a man the other day down at headquarters and could hardly believe my eyes. He looked well, was contented and reasonably happy. He had his N. D. A. money and was buying fruit and produce for bi family. Some months ago I knew him as a resident of our neighborhood. He had a good job a good, comfortable home which was provided with many of the best household necessities. He and his family wire happy and prosperous. Suddenly he lost Ins job and could not find another. Then the wife lost her washer . Next she lost her radio. And lastly they lost their home and had to go out and face the world The wife took deathempty-handely sick and all things seemed to work against them. As a last desperate effort he joined the N. D. A. through which he procured work which has brought a complete change in his and the familys life. Any system which will do this, in not only one instance but in hundreds, is worth investigating and the soonei prominent and leading men in state and nation do investigate, the better it will be for the future. d. Inasmuch as 1932 is an Olympic year, a year of sports, amateur athletic contests will be one of the new entertainment programs. Championships will be decided in track, field, boxing and wrestling. A gigantic Boy Scout Pow Wow is another new event in which scouts from every section of the state are expected to compete for honors. Popular headline events' of yesteryear including the dog show, the horse show and g contests will be included again as well as the usual exhibits so dear to us all. Upwards of $30,000 will be distributed in cash awards and should produce an exceptionally large entry list. In fact, Ernest S. Holmes, manager of the festival, expects one of the finest entry lists in the history of the state. This year will mark the 54th birthday of the event which was started way back in 1876. The fair is again under the supervision of the State Fair board of twelve members in addition to Manager Holmes and Secretary Martha E. Members of the executive Gibbs. committee include William C Winder of Salt Lake City, president; A. G. Mackenzie of Salt Lake, first Charles H.
