Hoyt, and others) at $70,000. Tho coming town is called Marshall, situate 0 miles north of Rellevue and 7 miles east of bullion. It possesses all requisite facilities for becoming the irreat smelting depot-- being the most convenient and available for the reduction of ores, besides being otherwise centrally located as a general supply point. I RAMSHORN MINE, IDAHO. GENERAL MINING NEWS. ollowing is the report to date handed in by . Jones, Maj. E. Manager of the Ramshorn, which is certainly a very line property: Operations during this year have been much moie extensive than last year, owing largely to the tact that a market for ores was a Horded within three miles of the mine by the Ray Horse Smelting and Mining Co. On the 1st. ol December, 1878, there were about i)0() feet of levels and winzes in the mine. During the past year level No. 2 has been run 275 feet, No. 8, SO feet; winze No. 2 sunk 112 feet, No. .1, 55 feet; level A run 00 feet; and altogether there ARIZONA. r I' Iikkxix. SNAKE CREEK DISTRICT, UTAH. This district is described as follows: American Fork District on the south, Little Cottonwood southwest, Rig Cottonwood west, Parleys Park north and Rlue Ledge on the north and east being in the centre of these districts and hence, without a doubt, a very promising section. The properties at present being developed are: Shenandoah, the Dupont Companys mines, Nathan, Magnet, Utah, Laxawaxen, Ivanova and L Radger. The ores of the district are principally lead, and the formation granite, quartz ite. limestone and dolomite. The claims of the Utah Marble and Mining t Company are showing up nicely. The Hiaft on the Kmeline shows a body of ore from which samples have been obtained going as high as 180 ounces silver and 02 per cent, vein in copper. 'I'lie Empress has a which 17 ounces silver and sight assays per cent, copper. The Lucy, Matilda, Epperson and Advice, owned by the Dupont Cmnpany, are Tho vein in being systematically developed, the Lucy is from 2 to feet wide and carries 15 ounces silver and 55 per cent. lead. An stratum on the Matilda assays DO ounces silver and 50 per cent. lead. The Epvein which averages 00 person has a ounces silver and 20 per cent. lead. From the Addie $1,000 specimens have been obtained. The vein is about feet wide but not well defined, and shows rich spots of black sulphur-cts- . The tunnel is in 50 feet and will he run 70 feet further before tapping the vein. From this tunnel is obtained the electric magnetic lock which has occasioned so much as- tonisliment in scientific circles. Rub it with a piece of wood and it emits a bright light, which gives n heat whatsoever. There is no phos-- i phorus in ir. There is one font of 'good ore in theRlaek Diamond. The linim-on L.
