LIONS AT LAGOON. Lagoon gets better each week. The management has placed a trans-e- r switch abont a mile south of Lagoon so that trains can be transferred from the Oregon Short Line to the Salt Lake and Ogden thus enabling excursionists from Ogden to reach Lagoon without a change of cars. The last spike was securely driven when ten cars of Ogden people came down to spend the day. They were entertained during the dajr with a vaudeville show, high diving summersaults, ventriloquism; trapeze performance, music, dancing and a baloon ascension by Prof. Abbott. They all want to come ck and many others will. Lagoon is very popular with the Ogden ites. For one week, beginning on last Wednesday, the immense crowd will be entertained in addition to the above, by The Lady of Lions. This She has iS'2 whole show of itself. with her six African lions, four very large ones, and two three months old whelps: She enters the cage with this formidable array of mon-steand makes them obey her as though they were so many fawns. This daring feat is well worth the cost of the entire trip. Next Sunday will be a red letter day for Lagoon. There will probably be two thousand people there from Ogden alone. There are attractions enough to make the day one of constant enjoyment. Wednesday, Aug. 17, will be Silver Day at Lagoon. Everybody and all their kinsfolks will be there. A great many people are disposed to look upon the money question as one that is hard to understand. To one who hasspent his time in reading the stuff usually given out by the press, that is true; but when the mind is once cleared and the subject properly presented in its simplicity, it is no more difficult to understand than is the multiplication table. This ignorance is positively inexcusable. Ten cents spent for a copy of "Ten Men of Money Island and three hours spent in reading it, is all that is needed to do the work. Read this little pamphlet once and it will be a revelation to you. It will not only upset all your preconceived ideas of money, but it will establish in your mind an impenetrable bulwark against further invasion of absurd and nonsensical theories on the subject. You simply understand the money question and all there is to it. The people seem to appreciate the many beauties and advantages ol Saltair more this season than any before. The bathing has been excellent all along. 1 his is accounte for by the fact of the long continued warsi weather. The music by Christensens Orchestra is delightful and enchanting; and then the great pavillion for dancing makes the place a popular resort for the young people as wel as the old, because in Utah everybody enjoys tripping the light fantastic. The lower floor is simply immense for family picnics. Clean and inviting are the tables and the surroundings.
