The board of Directors of your Welfare association takes this means of keeping you informed of the doings of your association and will endeavor to give a com- plete resume of all action taken at board meetings. Watch for this article in each issue of the Seagull and keep posted on the progress of the CEWA. In order that the members may know the feelings of the board of directors, in regards to the benefits to the members of the association, we submit the following on benefits and insurance. As it is obvious that dues of 25 cents a month are nowhere near adequate to cover any kind of benefit insurance such insurance protection must be provided by other means. And ~} Pueblo Indians from the San Domingo Reservation in New Mexico now employed at the ?~* Clearfield Naval Supply Depot demon strate one of their native hoop dances. The drummers left to right are Lorenzo Coriz and Emiliano Tenorio. The da neers are Santiago Crispin, Juan Moquino and Tommy Tenorio. to that end your board of directors is arranging for two forms of insurance. First will be a group life insurance at a cost of about $1.00 per month per $1,000, and this will be ready to put into effect as soon as the formsarrive. The other type will be in the form of accident and health insurance. This requiring more detailed study we are not quite ready to submit a plan as yet, but will announce the details later in a depot memorandum. This insurance is available to members only; however, you do not have to take out insurance to be a member. The 25-cent dues for the or-~ ganization will cover the sending of flowers to membersof the association who are sick in a hospital and to the families of bereaved members. In addition, acting under the authority of our by-laws, the board of directors will make small loans to members who are deserving at no interest. On the entertainment side, dances will be held from time to time at a minimum cost. In season, picnics will be held, and an athletic program is being planned, including an_ intramural softball league. Membership cards are in the hands of the ‘supervisors. If any- one has not been contacted, please see your supervisor as he has your membership card. Any supervisor who does not have his supply of membership cards, please contact Mr. Hull or Mr. Surrell. |
