She is being treated for Parkinsons Disease and is improving. Her many friends are delighted and wish her a speedy recovery. Gordon Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Davis was discharged from the Marine Corp last Tuesday, August 12. He and his brother, Eddie, volunteered and Gordon spent ten months in Viet Nam and Eddie in Okinawa. Mrs. Eva Cook accompanied Mr. and Mrs. V.L. Beck of Ogden to Provo last Saturday evening where they met nine other Beck family members and enjoyed dinner at a cafe afterwhich they all motored to Belaud wherp they attended the Golden Wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin (Jake) Attwood at the Leland Ward Chapel. Mr. and Mrs. Milo Burraston attended funeral services in Santaquin Tintic Stake Center last Thursday for William L. Greenhalgh. plane. She states that this is her first plane ride and that she enjoyed the smooth, wonderful trip. Her son, Frank Lewellen and wife of Salt Lake City put her on the plane in Salt Lake City and met her there on her return. Mrs. Hancock states that her brother is ill and that the trip was well worth the effort she made in going to see him. P. Grimmett. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Wilson recently y vacation in southern spent a California, visiting with her mother, Mrs. Anna McClellan, in Lomita. While there, they were joined by another McClellan daughter, Anna Lee, and her husband, C. L. Brown, of Santa Maria, Calif., and among events enjoyed was a patio party given by a third McClellan daughter, Lisle, and her husband, D. B. Hudson, at their home. There are two democrats and .two republicans seeking that office in the primary election. They are Frank A. Van Wagenon of Provo opposing L. Evans Smith of Provo. Mr. Smith is now deputy county clerk. Jerry Young of Provo, a reporter for the Daily Herald and William F. Huish of Orem are opposing each other in the Republican Primary. Other republican contests are for county attorney: Dayle Jeffs, incumbent, will oppose Gary D. Stott, a Provo attorney. For two-ye- ar county commissioner post which falls to the Southern part of the county, Melvin R. Hanks of Salem will face Nathan Thomas of Payson. The couple reside in Espanola, New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Jolley (Suzanne Ellsworth) and children, Kevin and Debra Ann, of San Jose, Calif., arrived here Sept. 2 and plan to remain through a ten day vacation that coincides with the current celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Don J. McCoy last week returned home from a 4,000 mile vacation trip that took them to points in the midwest. At Baraboo, Wis., they were guests at the home of her mother, Mrs. A. J. Lindley and at West Bend, Wis., visited her brother, Harold Lindley and his wife and family. They also visited relatives in Montevideo, Minn. Enroute home they enjoyed scenery through the Estes Park, Colo., area. Mr. and Mrs. Reid Persson of Payson and their daughter, Mrs. Lucille Goates of Salt Lake City, recently vacationed in the Jackson, Wyo., area. A highlight of their week was a float trip down the Snake River from Jackson. They returned home by way of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Persson of San Diego, Calif., arrived Sunday and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Reid Persson prior to going to Tremonton, where they attended a family reunion. They plan to go east later to visit with a son and his family. Barrie C. Larson SP4 Barrie C. Larson, Co. C 229th Battalion, Assault Helicopter Airmobile of United States Army, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Larson returned Aviation home August 16 from a years active duty in Viet Nam and received his separation papers from the United States Army. SP4 Larson enlisted Nov. 27, 1967 at Provo and was sent to Fort Lewis, Washington for Basic training. He received his A.I.T. training and Helicopter Maintenance in Fort Rucker, Alaska. August, 1968 he was transferred to Carson, Colo., where he served in the 5th Infantry Division and served as a Co. Clerk and P.L.L. Clerk. He received orders for Viet Nam in Aug. 1969 where he served as a Crew Chief. He was stationed in the Toy Ninh Providence. He particiated in the Cambodian invansions. Barrie graduated in 1966 from the Payson High School and Seminary and attended BYU one year. He was met at the Salt Lake Airport by his parents and family. Navy Petty Officer Third Class William L. Van Ausdal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius A. Van Ausdal of 292 S. 100 W. and husband of the former Miss Deanne M. Olson of 497 East Main St., all of Santaquin, is serving with Tactical Air Control Squadron-1- 1, Detachment Alfa, aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Okinawa in the Western Pacific. The squadron provides vital air control and coordination for amphibious forces of the Seventh Fleet. Samuel H. Moore U.S. Air Force Airman First Class Samuel H. Moore, son of Huish Moore of R.F.D., Payson, Utah, is on duty at Tuy Hoa AB, Vietnam. Airman Moore, an electronic equipment repairman, is assigned to the 31st Tactical Fighter Wing, a unit of the Pacific Air Forces, headquarters for air operations in Southeast Asia, the Far East and Pacific area. The airman, who previously served at Luke AFB, Ariz,, graduated in 1962 from Payson High School and received his bachelors degree in 1969 from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah.
