Sat Oct 16 thru 23 - STOREWIDE SALE In favor of Constitution Party candidates do the door remember playing whip and chanting “vote for Dewey" at the elementary school in Fountain Green I was properly indoctrinated by Grandpa Jensen who told me “better to vote for a yellow dog republican than the best democrat in the country When the democrats are in tariffs go down and the price of wool goes down When republicans are in the prices go up with the tariffs” (He had a lot of sheep) I followed my family’s direction politically serving the Republican Party as secretary and delegate Then noticed that the republican politicians were ignoring the republican platform in favor of socialistic programs What do you do when the right turns left? I felt betrayed and frustrated What happened to principle? If it’s wrong for an individual to steal from someone to give to someone else does it make Yes it right if the majority wants to it? Are we a nation ruled by laws or people? Are there ‘self evident truths’ or is every tiling open to the wishes of a ‘give me’ society and politicians? Now there isn’t a dimes’ difference between the democrats and republicans but you wouldn’t know it by the tenacity with which some people hang on to party politics The situation reminds me of a play by George Bernard Shaw where a man asks girl to sleep with him for a million dollars After some dialogue she says it could be arranged He then asked if she would for $5 She responded indignantly “What kind of girl do you think I am?” He replied “That’s been established now we’re negotiating price” Once we admit that our representatives to government don’t have to honor their oath to protect and uphold the constitution it opens war and regulation The Republican candidates have proven they won’t uphold their oath of office The Constitution Party has candidates who have an understanding of the constitution and are dedicated to its principles Michael Anthony Peroutka is a presidential candidate with America all the characteristics needs He is gaining recognition and strength as people recognize the dire situation we are in Peroutka has my vote Frank M Crowther Ephraim it is a conspiracy This letter is in response to a letter by Mr Ed Painter regarding the FTAA or Free Trade Areas of America Mr Painter asked the question “What’s going on with our government?” I will respond by using the dreaded It’s a Conspiracy to destroy our liberty and independence as a sovereign nation - pure and simple Some will say that I am however all being simplistic who have studied the ancient and modem history of nations know that conspiracies especially political conspiracies are an all part of the human experience Webster defines “conspiracy” as such “To combine secretly in an evil or unlawful enterprise” That’s pretty simple to understand Two or more people join together to plan and execute an evil act What I don’t understand is how so many people refuse to believe in National or Intema- tional conspiracies Little conspiracies are ok but big conspiracies not a chance!! My friends the FTAA is a BIG one! It is patterned after the EU (European Union) w hich is also part of the BIG one We are being lied to about the real purposes of these treaties Those nations who are joining these pacts will lose their and independence and will find themselves governed by bureaucracies made up of appointed not elected) men and women from cultures not their own (More about the FTAA later) My purpose in this short essay is this I am of the LDS persuasion and if my good Baptist Methodist or Catholic friends will bear with me a little while I would like to appeal to my fellow LDS friends for just a moment or two We (the LDS) have the Book of Mormon to refer to My contention is that this book is our handbook on conspiracies Now before you cry heresy! heresy! do the following: go to the index of the Book of Mormon and the topical guide and study (I mean really study not just read the two words are not equals) all the references under the topics conspiracy secret combinations and fraud Once you have done this I will be very very surprised if you don’t agree that it is the best book (from above) on these subjects It is as though the Lord specifically designed for us to know about the “the evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the Last Days” (D&C 89:4) Does the Lord know whereof He speaks?? When I read last week’s news article on the Wendy Hansen trial I felt quite dismayed and have several questions about it It seems incredible to me that a person can be charged with 44 felonies and all but two of them are dismissed I know this is not unusual in our judicial process and wonder if we have lazy or overworked prosecutors I was in law enforcement for over 33 years and I learned that it was a waste of time to charge a defendant with all the crimes they committed because most of them would be dismissed by prosecutors A lot of criminals learn this also and know that any crime other than the most serious ones will end up being dismissed They refer to these as “the free ones" The article stated that Hansen was to pay $30000 restitution at the time of her sentencing I sure hope that somewhere along the line she is required to pay every penny back — plus interest What kind of message are we sending to society when a person is engaged in stealing from the public over a period of several years that amounts to hundreds of thousands of dollars and the prosecutor recommends no jail time and charges will be reduced to misdemeanors upon completion of probation? IMio says that crime does not pay! To put frosting on the cake the Ephraim City Council gave Hansen a letter of thanks for serving the city Thanks for stealing from us for sixteen years! We appreciate StIQPfLTIIOLTE When yea csnl you! With that kind of attitude is it any wonder why we have so much corruption in our city county and state governments?
