The Payson Junior High School wdl celebrate Education Week by a series of appropriate programs. All friends of the schools are urged t attend the special assembly given each day. The following is an outline in brief of the weeks activities: Monday, November 9, at 1 P. M , Professor Edgar M. Jensen of B. Y U will give an illustrated lecture on The Payson High School U fortunate in being able to to obtain Coach G. Ott Romney as speaker in assembly Friday November 6, along with an excel lant musical program which ( has been arranged. Coach Romney, after graduating from the University of Utah, became coach of the East Side Il.gh School Here he produced three teams that: scored a point a minute in every game they were in. His team beat Payson one year 55 to 0. He went from there to Montana State College where he produced Rocky Mountain Champions in football for two years. He has been at the Brigham Youog University fer four years. Here his team has been the only team in the past six years to hold the University of Utah scoreless. His track team won the Rocky Mountain Conferem e Championship in 1929. He will undoubtedly give a sports talk which will encourage sports in Payson. Everyone is invited to attend on Friday, ember 6. at 11 A. M. Mr. and Mrs. John Persson, prominent residents of Iayson, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on November, 4 at the.r Wednesday, home in the first ward. Mr. Fersson was born in Sweden on December 7, 1858. When a young man he came to Fayson and has since that time followed his trade of a tailor. For many years he lias in the Gents engaged Furnishing business with his sons. He returned to his native country and filled a mission for the L. D. S. Church. Amelia Fersson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Keele and was born in Payson on October 10. 1802 and has spent her entire life here. The couple were married on Novtm her 4, 1881 in the Endownment house in Salt Lake Pity, taking two days for the trip in a covered wagon accompanied by the father of the bride All of their living children we.'e present at the celebration on Wednesday, including Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Persson of Los Angeles, Mr .and Mrs. Harold Persson of Garland, M Thomas Householder and of Eufeka, Mr. and Mrs. Reid'Persson Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Persson and Mrs. John Persson Jr. of Payson, also their twelve grandchildren. An elaborate turkey dinner was served to the family, at a long bar- quet table. The centerpiece was tiered wedding cake, beautifully corated in white and gold. Congratulations were received from many friends during the day.
