Street, Mrs. W. T. Amos, Mrs. E. E. Robinson and Mrs. W. C. McCormick. Mrs. H. S. Tipton and Mrs. Street received the prizes. PAYSON WOMAN r LIONS CLUB HOLD V ANNUAL SENIOR CLASS; Mrs. G. Fred Ott suffered painful injuries last Thursday evening when she was hit by an automobile driven by Kermit Done. In company with Mr. Ott she was returning to their home from town and as they were crossing Utah Avenue by the Taylor School the car approached. The driver sounded the horn and applied the brakes an as he avoided hitting Mr. Ott, the machine struck Mrs. Ott knocking her violently to the ground. She was rushed o the Curtis hospital and Dr. L. D. Stewart wai called. Her injuries consisted of bruises over the entire body and great shock. Internal injury was feared at first. She was rermoved to her home Friday The regular meeting and luncheon of the Payson Lions Club was held last Friday night at the home of Dr. F. B. Wheelwright. The committee consisting of President P. C. Wightman, Dr. L. D. Stewart, Dr. A. L. Curtis, T F. Tolhurst and Ray Monsen presented a blue print of the site offered by Payson for the state home for the feeble minded and also information and data which they have ready to present before the state commission. The members approved their efforts. A report was submitted by the committee working to Becure a creamery for Payson which was very favorable. Eldon Dixon was present as a representative from the Pleasant Grove ILions Club to invite the Payson Lions and ladies to their charter night on Decemberr 11. A splendid musical program was given by the Duncan sisters of Salt Lake, Dean Wightman and Miss Mildred Pace. The annual Senior Class play which was presented in the Junior High School auditorium last Friday afternoon delighted all who attended and every member of the cast portrayed their character in a splendid' manner showing that much time and effort had been given to it. Coach Stan Wilsons Lions will battle the Provo' High School Bulldogs in what promises to be one of the greatest basketball battles of the season. There is also to be several boxing bouts between members of the res-- t pective schools which will be staged between halves. Coach Wilson is working hard with his basket ball squad trying to produce a Nebo Division winner. Of his last years team he lost four regulars, Pete Wilson. Had Wilson, Dick Searles, and Pat Patten, the leading scorer of the division last year but he has Bus Snyder and! Farrell Olson around which to build another good team. In the B. Y. U. High School game Olson and Snyder were started at forwards with Dean Simmons, a squad member of last year, and Lawrence Larsen of last years Sophomore team, at guards and Ernest Jensen, a fast rangy boy from Goshen, at center and with reserves pushing?; them hard for a position. UTAH COUNTY, UTAH, FRIDAY, DECEMBER ' 20 Dies At Home In Benjamin PROVO BULLDOGS David Uria Mikesell, well known Utah pioneer died Saturday att his home in Benjamin. He was born in Salt Lake City on October 3, 1848 and was the third child and second male child born in Utah, his parents coming to Salt) Lake valley with Brigham Youngs Company in 1847. Mr. Mikesell was one of the three men who brought the first threshing machine to Utah in 1866, three months being required to bring it across the plains. He helped to colonize The 'Muddy near St. George and also one of the Arizona District. He served the government troops as a scout and assisted in the Black. Hawk uprising. He was always an active civic and church worker. Mr. Mikesell is survived by his widow, Julia Axel Mikesell, and the following children, Albert and Frank of Los Angeles; Mrs. Charles Hickn man of Benjamin; Mrs. L. H. of Atolia California; Dean of Mammoth and Josepih of Georgia. Surviving also are 29 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services were held the Benjamin ward chape! in Tuesday with Bishop Henry Lundell officiating. Interment in the Spanish Fork Cemetery was directed by the beseret Mortuary. t MIW TAYLOR SCHOOL NOTES The Taylor School will present a Christmas entertainment in the form of a little pageant, Wednesday December 8, 1929, from 4 to 6 oclock, in the Second Ward Amusement Hall 10c Price of admission 5c FIRE DESTOYS SANTAQUIN ' ROLLER MILL .The.'community of Santaquin suffered anothqj, - very disastrous fire early Thursday morning which resulted in the complete destruction of the Sanaquin Flour Mill. The fire was discovered by men coming from the night shift at the Tintic Standard mine, the mill then being in flames. The owner, Mr. H. C. Robertson was asleep in his residence near the mill and was awakened and phoned the alarm to Payson." The mill was abso-luledoomed, yhen they arrived and there f was' but. little water available. The Union Pacific station across the street had started to burn when they arrived and also the power line poles carrying higbu., tension wires were burning at .the top. By running up their ladders and working Quickly with hand, extinguishers and the tank of water available the station, the Payson firemen under chief Robert L. Wilson were able to save the station and also the damage resulting had the tension wires fallen on the tracks. The station would have gone had the truck not been on hand. Mr. Robertson, owner and operator of the mill was quite seriously injured when he rushed in the burning structure in an effort to secure his papers and books. He fell over a hopper and injured quite severly as well as suffereing from bums received. Dr. Curtis was called from Payson to attend him.
