Show HAMSON FUNERAL the third ward chapel was tho the scene of impressive funeral services over the remains of the late frank hamson on friday afternoon of last week the stand was draped la in white and boquete ot of flowers and Ns when hen the white casket was brought in it was ri derany covered with flowers while friends carried two big designs a star and a broken wheel from the fire department the firemen acted as an escort as mr hamson had been a member ol of that organization since it was given life twenty years ago and they marched in head of the hearse bishops counselor S norman lee was wag in charge ot of the services bishop D P burt being unavoidably absent from the city and the speakers were elders eders norman lee bishop brigham wright joseph yates john it watkins W S taylor john D peters and president olsen oleen N stohl resolutions ot of respect from the fire department part ment were read by victor E madsen and the musical numbers were guide me to thee providence is over all and though deepening Deep ning trials between speakers daisy and sevena madsen sang unanswered yet 1 I the prayers were offered by elder david rees and J C frederickson it was reported ly by one of the speakers during the services that the word had reached the family only the day previous that a brother in law had been killed down in arizona he was an officer of the law andaas and was killed while performing his duty there was a splendid attendance at and and the spirit of the services was divine and most comforting resolutions or OF RESPECT that whereas the al mighty almighty hand of providence has permitted the taking away from this of action by death our fellow fireman frank hamson and whereas he has been a member of the brigham city fire department for more than twenty years and at a the time of his death was one of the oldest members of the department in point of service and during all these years he has been diligent efficient and devoted to his duties as a saver of life and property of the citizens of brigham city and whereas we are deeply affected by his demise so early in life when his labors could be of such great benefit to bis a family friends and the community at large for these reasons and many others that liay may be given be it therefore resolved by the ahe members ot of the brigham city fire department that we are touched very keenly in our feelings b by 7 his bis death and we shall miss him in our councils as well as in our active work we sympathize with his family in this hour of bereavement and pray god to console them and help them to understand his purpose in the calling away of husband and friend and we tender our services to the family to assist them in bringing solace to the aching heart that we present the family with a copy of these resolutions and that we spread the same upon our minutes and have them published in the papers respectfully submitted M J HOLT C CV V THOMPSON in behalf of the brigham city fire department |
