Show Page 4 Millard I SPS C'ounly Thurs Jan 1987 An Eagle Court of Honor was held the Leamington Ward Sunday Dec The meeting was conducted by Mr Glen Taylor Committee Chairman for the Leamington Ward Talks were given by two guest speakers Mr Reid Ludwig and Mr Rodney Ogden Then Ronald Kevin Law was presented the Eagle Scout Award Also in attendance was Mr Ed Dutson the Scout Master Kevin is the son of Ronald and Connie Law of Leamington Kevin has held various leadership positions throughout his scouting years He has participated in camps such as "Thunder Ridge” and “Timberline” In 1983 he won first place in the “Survival of the Fittest” Contest He loves camping out and has assisted Mr Dutson with the younger scouts Kevin has held various leadership positions in his Priesthood Quorums He has had the honor of playing on the Delta High School Football Team and two years they took the State Championship consecutively This perience has taught him to strive to always do his best when the going gets tough Kevin has held various class leadership positions during his school years and in Seminary For his Eagle Project he supervised and helped to build some firehose racks for the storing and draining of the fire hoses t the Leamington Firestation He also supervised and helped with the cleaning up of the Leamington City Cemetery Kevin enjoys most sports and hunting He would like to serve a mission for the LDS Church after which he wants to attend college to become a Forest Ranger or to work in the Wildlife Management field in Cindy Stewart and Mathew 14 Mills Cindy Stewart to wed Mathew Mills Mr and Mrs Joe Stewart are ed to announce the engagement forthcoming marriage pleas- and of their daughter Cindy to Mathew Mills Cindy is a graduate of Della High School and Evan’s Hair Styling College in St George Mathew is a graduate of South Sevier High School He is the son of Vivian Mills of Salt t ake and Ronald Mills of Arizona The young couple plan to live in Monroe Utah A reception will be held in their honor from 7 to 9 pm at the M E Bird Center on Friday January 9 1987 Everyone is cordially invited to attend No invitations are being sent locally DESERET Arprilla Scow Ph: Santa Claus arrived on Wednesday evening at the Deseret Church where the children and parents and friends were all gathered for a very nice Christmas After the proprogram gram Santa arrived and talked to the children and then gave each a sack of He left wishing candy and peanuts everyone a Very Merry Christmas Get Well wishes to Lucile Hales She spent several days at Utah Valley in Her daughter Provo Hospital Rawlene Hansen from Kanab has spent several days here Alice and Spencer Webb went to Provo to attend funeral services for the daughter of Mabel Crafts Olson On Monday morning December 22 our grandson Russell Dewsnup son of Kent and Sandra Dewsnup of Oak City was operated on at LDS Hospital for major surgery At this writing he is still in the Intensive Care Unit His parents are in Salt Lake with him We send hint "Get Well” wishes Stella and Faun Hawley went to Bountiful to spend Christmas with their families Robert and Louise Carling Dale and Patsy Carling Mark and Marlena Lewis and their children Oasis and Deseret wards were saddened to hear of the passing of Roland C'ahoon He lived in Oasis most all of his life Graveside services and burial were at the Oasis cemetery He will be missed by all Our sy mpathy is expressed to his wife Mae and their children and Jim and Carolyn Bunker daughters Tiffany and Jennifer from Boseman visited with Montana parents Reed and Anna Mae Bunker for Christmas Doyle and Martha Mace who have moved to St George for the winter months were home Sunday and then went to Salt Lake to spend Christmas with their daughter Marilyn and family and their son Joe and family Harry and Coleen Smith spent a couple of days in Salt Lake City Sunday at Sacrament Meeting the program was put on by the Ward Choir A Christmas Cantata "Carol of Christmas” was presented Conductor was Leta Giles accompanied by Jay Finlinson Narrator was Brad Jensen It was a very nice program and enjoyed by a large crowd Jim and Liz Wiscombe and daughter Jamie went to Pioche Nevada for Christmas and then went to Morgan Utah during the holidays Milden and Arprilla Scow spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Sandy at the home of son and family Darrel and Gave Scow and children Lisa Doug and Rebecca In the after- Breanna 1st Birthday Thank You Celebrated The West Millard Care Center would like to express their thanks to the Hinckley Lions Club and Mr Ray Brown for the generous donation of $20000 and to Mrs Judy Johnson and “The Blue Notes” for their donation of $10000 This w ill be used in our going ceramics fund Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Leamington Chapel on Sunday Dec 14 Greg actually received his Eagle back in July but wanted to wait until someone else from his ward got theirs to be presented his Greg is a freshman at DHS He played on the JV and Freshman teams in football this fall He is involved in helps lead the local Webelos den with his dad Greg has received his Arrow of Light award and his Faith in God award Greg has been
