selected as Academic by the National Secondary Education Council of America These students are considered to be among the top of Millard High School students their academic using exclusively achievement as a standard for their selection This is a most prestigious award which recognizes hard work and commitment to academic excellence to the following Congratulations seniors from Millard Ensembles ' The Millard High School Band recently returned home from Region Solos and Ensembles at Cedar City High School Six schools attended Millard in which this competition placed third overall Those participating in this competition were Angela Hone and Jolynn Duet with a Flute Cummings Wendy Allen April Averett Jolynn and Tami Rasmussen Cummings Jason making up a Flute Quartet Patricia North Angela Fdwards £ y f 4Mn 21 Third Graders enjoy their new Apple lie computer They raised funds for its purchase by collecting jVfXs mm cans and newspapers aluminum Several local cash contributions also helped them to reach their goal Third Graders get an Apple for their efforts Last week the Fillmore Elemen3rd graders received the tary computer they had worked long and hard for The Apple He computer along with a disk drive and color monitor made the effort all worthwhile There was also enough money to purchase a cart for the new computer The third graders have been aluminum and cans collecting newspapers to raise money for the The computer purchase project raised over $130000 As well as hundreds of donations of cans and newspapers which the Utah National Guard helped deliver the third graders received several cash contributions These included major contributions of $250 from Red Dome Inc and about $150 from the local Alternatives to Prison (AIP) and several project anonymous donations of as much as $50 Third teachers Oleve grade Robison Gloria Hunter and Terry Perkins coordinated the effort Their leadership and persistance were the key factors in making the project a success Spanish Club students perform for the Elementary On February 15 the Millard High School Spanish Club did a presentation at the Elementary School for the 3rd graders They last Thursday evening relafor their parents performed A and friends tives capacity audience enjoyed the program which was entitled "Feeling February" The students expressed the strong feelings of love
