Show 6 WEDNESDAY, APRIL II, 2001 THE SUN ; Jamie Turner Jamie Turner is a recent graduate from Northridge High in her home town Layton, Ut. She comes from a family of nine, who are her best friends. She is very excited for her new start as a freshemn here at Dixie State. Jamie is hoping to recive her degree in science. Jamie Turner loves to scrapbook, and watch scary movies, excpessailly if it is directed hy Alfred Hitchock. Jamie loves music and some of her favoriie groups include The Barenakedhadies, Red Hot chilli Peppers, Me First and The gimmie Gimmies, and Weezer. Jamie likes meeting new people, cameo-ing- , hiking, and camping. Her favorite food is pasta. She loves making coclate chip cookies, writing, acting, and dancing. The Dixie Sunt Meet the staff Reel Big Fish, The Donnas, Letters to Cleo, Save Ferris, and The Vandals, not to mention The Bouncing Souls and Less Than Jake. She like to go to concerts and has attended many. The most recent being at the Utah State Fair Park. Charisse is planning to attend Dixie for two years, afterwhich she will transfer to the University of Utah and get a degree of Psy- BreAnne LcRoy BreAnne LeRoy is a sophomore this year at Dixie. She was born and raised in Orangeville, which is located in Emery County, Utah. She loves to he with her friends and family, and is told hy them that she is a very independent person. Some of her hobbies include; volleyball, basketball, softball, horseback riding and she is just taking up chology. A golf. She has one older brother and one older Both, of whom, are married. BreAnne loves to get involved wherever she goes. While she has been at Dixie she was an ambassador her freshmen year and this year she is on the Student Government as Campus Life Chair. Her major is communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. She hopes to graduate from Dixie this year with her Associates of Science and to continue on to earn abachelors degree. - -- sister. - - Carly Cash Carly Cash served as feature editor of staff. The Dixie Sun 2000-200As feature editor, Carly reported on several campus and community events. She frequently critiqued movies, and brought the stories of remarkable people to the pages of The Sun. Carly is excited to return as a member of the 2 team. A native of Lehi, Utah, Carly is returning to Dixie State College for her second year. While attending DSC, she has been given several opportunities within the communications department. In addition to working on the newspaper, Carly has worked within the college television channel, KCEC, and the radio program. After graduating from Dixie State College, Carly plans to attend the University of Utah, where she will major in broadcast 1 2001-200- , i V : Karla Cottam Joining The Dixie Sun team as a sophomore, Karla Cottam is excited to be involved as a Feature Editorwnter. Her other interests include messing around with Photography, writing bad poetry, hanging out with fnends, and working on various projects she sometimes refers to as "art." She is a native of St. George and enjoys its beautiful landscape but doesn't always enjoy the heat. Charisse Sagers Charisse Lyn Sagers is currently the editor in chief of the Dixie Sun. She is a freshman here at Dixie State College and is working full-tim- She loves music of ALL kinds, but is particularly fond of bands such as The Ramones, Berlin, Germany marked the birth place of Krystle Nicole Grant. On December 10, 1983 Krystle was the only child bom to Minnie Grant. Krystle is from Duchesne County in Utah. Well, actually she is from Roosevelt a town located in Duchesne. Never heard of it? Don't fell bad few people have. Krystle has always had an interest in English. In English class she discovered her passion for writing and is pursuing it further at Dixie State College. This is her first year being apart of a school paper. She hopes to learn in great detail from the Dixie Sun newspaper. Crystal Baker Crystal Baker is a Freshman here at Dixie college, going into Dental Hygiene. She moved from Layton, UT to St. George and is staying at Raintree apartments. Crystal loves to have fun and is excited to write for the Dixie Sun. She loves to laugh and meet new people. Her talents consist of sewing, acting, writing, and playing sports. She is the youngest of five siblings and loves her family very much. Her favorite joke is. .."What did the fish say when he swam into a wall? Answer: DAM!!! Micki Childers Cade Stubbs Cade Stubbs is in his freshman year at Dixie State College. A Utah native, he has been in St. George for nearly eleven years. He graduated from Pine View High School here in town on May 30, 2001. During his junior year at PVHS, he was on the newspaper staff, and was the editor in chiefhis senior year. His hobbies include wnting, music, reading, and hanging out with friends. Charisse participated in journalism throughout her high school career, and is anticipating doing the same through college. She has won many awards in various areas of journalism. She loves to wnte about anything, her favorite style being poetry. She believes that writing needs to come from the heart in order to captivate an audience. She is from the small town of Tooele, located about 30 miles southwest of Salt Lake City. Charisse has two brothers and two sisters, one of which is her twin. She also has three nieces named Josi, Kailee, and Hattie. She feels she has a good outlook on life occompanied by her strong opinions and views. Her family and belief system are first in her life, while her friends are a very close second. Krystle Grant Micki Childers is a native of St. George, Utah. She enjoys laughing, learning, and living. She also enjoys photography and children. Micki is majoring in Elementary Education and is currently working at Kiddie Kandids, a children's photagraphy sutdio. Micki is a member of the DSUN council, Rebel Crew and IWA. She enjoys being involved and serving others. Micki is a news editor of the Dixie Sun and looks forward to working on the paper this year. She hopes to meet many new people and make lots of new friends this semester. Shelly Jackson Shelly Marie Jackson was bom on May 5, 1983 in Grand Junction, Colorado. She moved to Utah with her mother in just the few short months after her birth. She has lived here ever since. She attended Wayne High School in Bicknell, Utah, and moved to St. George in May of this yean Shelly loves to act, write, and sing (esp. karaoke). She has been a part of many theatrical productions in the Wayne community. Shelly has also written numerous plays, both for screen and stage, short novels, and short stories.
