The Jubilee Home, located near Dixie Regional Medical Center on the comer of 500 South and 400 East, was built in 1985 The purpose of the building is to provide accommodations for people w ho have loved ones staying at the hospital The stay for these individuals will be made a little bit easier by the contributions of PBL members Please see PBL, page 9 Perry Hepworth, a member of Dixie States The Food Fest: one of the years highlights By Rachael Hughes and WoniLU There Amber Sands thedixiesunfahocmail com an event that tnumphs all other happenings in beautiful St. George. Is it the Parade of Homes? Not hardly What about the Marathon? This event prances in circles around those runners. This particular event is the mother of all festivities ... so what is it7 Its the Harmon's food fest. This annual event is held at the Dixie Center and always proves to be a sure hit with local residents. This year was no exception as the Dixie Center demonstrated to be the place to be on Feb. 23 and 24. Only a campus of college students can truly appreciate the call of free food, but picture this, row upon row of tables and booths with patrons behind each whose sole purpose is to give you free food, samples, and products. It draws passerbys with its hypnotic beacon and sends them walking mto one of the newest restaurants in town. Applebees, always known for fine family dining now has a separate attraction-t- he allurement of the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Blondie, and according to Amber Sands, food expert, "there's nothing dumb about this dessert." A thick cookie bar, light and smooth in texture, filled with white chocolate and macadamia nuts topped with a crowning scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with maple walnut sauce. This description is unjust, however, because it fails to mention the just slightly salty flavour of the cookie that balances out the sweet creamy maple sauce. of the Rachael Hughes, treat, adds that "my mind is blank for words, just keep thinking about the maple sauce." Dessert for the most pan is meant to be shared, but if one want to maintain a good relationship with friends and family, order two so no one gets hurt. As compared with other dessert values m St George, it retains about the same pnce with slightly less quantity Don't order this dessert with the idea that it will replace dinner, this is the kind of dessert that is perfect for following a meal This particular dessert can even be devoured during bouts of sickness. Freshman Wendy Taylor, who was suffering from a mean cold, commented after tackling the Blondie, I'm in heaven ... everything is kind of hazy." This kind of dessert is well worth the pnce despite its slightly smaller square area. At the end of the day, the place to go for something sweet is Applebees, where the Blondie is waiting for you. club, sprays down the outside of the almost surpasses the imagination. What could a poor college student want more than a huge room filled with friendly faces and n unlimited free food? Its a situation and the only mistake one can make in coming to the food fest is eating before vou get there. Previous years of this festivity didnt include as many free samples as this years event, so it was definitely a shame for those m attendance this year to have to turn away any of the food samples because they didn't have room for it. So what spectacular food selections did the food fest offer this year7 For the carnivores out there the meat selection was plentiful. Meats such as pork, ham, chicken, and beef filled tables and were offered in generous samples. For the herbivores, the food fest offered I U ?
