Show September 22, 1961 THE DIXIE SUN Dismissal of Classes Policy on Using From From time to time various School Phones to hold groups request permission special assemblies at Dixie College at times other than the regular assembly period. To make it possible for these groups to have an audience it has been necessary to dismiss classes. Too frequently students dismissed do not attend the assembly in question. Hereafter, the following policy will prevail: 1. All requests for special assemblies will be referred to the Assemblies and Programs which will check with the Scheduling Committee in order to clear the time and facilities. Co-mitt- and department telephones are provided by help staff members conduct college business more effectively. Telephones are not to be used by students, except in the case of student employees who are conducting school busi-ness Student officers may use the telephone in the office of the Dean of Students with his permission, or the telephone in the counselors office with the permission of the telephone operator only when discussing student government affairs. The telephone in the Public Relations office may be used only by Public Relations personnel. Pay telephones are available in the Annex and Administration Build-ing for student calls. Housing Policy During the past two or three years, several householders have complained of their student renters; likewise, several students have had misunderstandings with their landlords. In order to reduce such problems to a minimum, the housing committee at Dixie has established a new policy, the high points of which are listed below. 1.
