Glen Smith, Registrar A most efficient counseling service is now available at Dixie College. A staff of qualified counselors, headed by B. Glen Smith, is available to all students on campus for help in any problem area a student may have registration, scholastic, personal, or emotional. Summer counseling was given this past summer on campus to students in the area. Nearly all local high school students were under the new policy. This phase was handled by Mr. Smith. Five area counselors are available to high school students. They are: Area of college preparation, Clifford A. Dean; area of applied science and arts, Harold N. Crawley; area of home living, Hannah H. Wells; area of business preparation, Ross H. Johnson; area of fine arts, William E. Purdy. Counselors for college students are: Division of Humanities, Marion J. Bentley; Division of Social Science, A. Karl Larson; Division of Biological Science, Loraine Woodbury; Division of Physical Science, E. Ellis Everett; and Division of Occupational Training, Wayne e. Employment placement is also supervised by this department. From September 1 through October the United States Employment Service will be giving aptitude tests to all high school juniors and anyone else interested in taking the general aptitude test battery, which indicate where a students aptitude lies and what vocation he or she is most suited. 1 Leadership Conference Set For October 8th Plans for the annual Leadership Conference for student leaders of Dixie College are underway, according to Clay Conway and Titine Spilsbury, chairmen for the event.
