Show ITHE WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1956 VOLUME VI Miss Dixie College Rides Rodeo Students Participate In Parade Float Season Opens With Rush Rodeo Activities Lions Football season on the Dixie college campus received a warm welcome Friday, September 21, with a series of activities sponsored by various campus groups. A matinee dance, a noon stocking shuffle, was held by the Rebel-ettenew womens marching unit, to spark enthusiasm for the Rebels first grid encounter of the season. Immediately preceding the game cheerleaders led the entire student body in a mammoth pep rally and march into the Dixie Sun Bowl where they cheered the Rebels onto the playing field. Chosen to represent the lower division were Miss Gayla Dawn Ivie formerly of Scipio, Utah, and a member of the freshman class. Elected to represent the upper division was Miss Darlene Bentley of Lewiston, Idaho, a junior student at the college. Named as alternate to the two girls was Hawkins of Los Angeles, Calif.
