Show HAl OURNALIS E a SEPTEMBER 27, ART GUILD STATES n The first OBJECTIVES Beaux Art Guild of the season was held night in the Art room. The constitution was last Thursday reviewed. By unanimous approval of members present, several changes end modifications were made, which should contribute to the success of the Guild, outline of Guild activities for n the coming year, which promises to be the most successful in Guild his- tory, was given. Arrangements for meetings made, and discussed . initiation of were new members Most important of the Guilds activities will be that of sponsoring successful Fine Arts Festival and a OO "D.J.C." meeting Student Art Exhibit. Other projects that are both interesting and educational to the members of the Guild will be taken up during the year. Officers of the Guild for the coming year are: Jack Rencher, .presi dent; Jane Pace, vice president; Bob Martin, Milford, secretary and treasurer; Twila Williams, Kanarra, his- torian and reporter; and Mr. Huntsfaculty adviser Thursday evening a party is being given for students who are eligible for membership into the organisation. At the party they will be invited to man, The ER I staff STAFF ORGANIZED of the "Dixie Chatter" were selected by Journalists the members of the journalism class in an election held Tuesday morning. Although the paper has been published for the past week, the complete staff was not named until yesterday. Members of the staff are:- Schuyler - Gardner, editor Shirlee Wilson, associate editor; Jack Rancher, assistant editor;. Carl Taylor, business manager; Swapp and t Helen Wharton, press; Jack Petitte, typists; Bill and Garn Heaton, excnangc. Other members of the class, who were selected reporters, are as follows: George Andrus, Truman Bowler, Ballard Hafen, Elvin Uafen, Gwen Heaton, Della Lee, Yerl Paxman, Verna Shumway, and ParaLee "Wallace. B DEBATE SUBJECT. ANNOUNCED ' Jchn T. Woodbury, high school debating coach, states that the debate question for this year is, "Resolved: The United Spates should own and operate the railroads." This year the debaters will receive the best service and material the United States, can give. The debaters furnish half the money, and the school the other half, -- D- join the Beaux Art Guild. PRIVATE SPEECH ANNOUNCED -- D- Mr. on McAllister announced that work the opera "Gondoliers would begin today. The opera, which has been runping in Salt Lake for a year, ran into its fifth year in Philadelphia. --D- This years "School Calendar" is. now being worked on by the student body officers The "Calendar" is a schedule of the activities of the stu- all dent body for the coming year. Miss Henderson will take a limited number of students. for private work in public speaking, interpretation or remedial voice and speech work. Creuit will be given at Dixie College for this work.
