To the Sophomore Class 0 Sophomores, you are the acme of our success, the pinnacle of our utmost heights. In you we trust and on you we depend for our sacred name and our future security. You are the last to enter our sea of graduates, whose flow tide must ever put us over the top as a worthy needed human institution. What we can do, depends u5on what you do. What we shall have the opportunity of doing depends, in large measure, upon the moral personalities you display as the result of your training in your Alma Mater. The justification of a school is its students and what do nothing else. The lives they live, the satisfacbecome and they tion they feel, the services they render these are the things that give stability to any educational institution, ours, as all others. But happy thought it is the way you can render most service to your school is at one and the same time the way you can do most good to yourself and to society. What a wonderful coincidence that all these goods, the concomitants of the good life, all issue from one and the same activity. It illustrates Gods method of correlating the forces of the universe to bring about the consummate ultimate good characters and personalities compatible with companionship with Him and other good persons. Now, how can you develop these characters that are so prized by the Eternal? There is but one way, giving yourselves without stint to the life of loving service; first, to those immediately around you, the home folks, your neighbors and friends, your school, your community, (city, state, nation) your church, and then to humanity at large. That may seem a large order, but God is waiting for you and others like you to solve the numerous problems that are confronting the puzzled world today. Do not commence with the great problems of men. Start where are with the equipment you have and grow consistently through you persistent and consistent effort. If you do this, time is ever on your side and God is ever at your beck. First, know you wish all men well; then strive to acquire knowledge that will give you power to make dynamic your goodwill; bless with your present might all the while. Then you will make the best possible out of your life. You will be happy; you will be at peace; you will be at rest; you will have joy; you will be heaven. John T.
