Show The First Christmas Ring out sweet bells, whose music tells The joy of Christmas morn, How long ago in Bethlehem The Savior, Christ, was born. The Shepherds, watching oer their flocks Upon the silent plain Heard Angel voices, singing clear, Peace, and good will toward men. From lands afar, led by a star, The wise men came to bring Their gifts of myrrh and frankincense To greet the n king. new-bor- Within the lowly manger there, His bed upon the hay, Surrounded by a radiant light, The Baby Jesus lay. They knelt, in worship most devout, Before the Heavenly King, While angel voices, clear and sweet. Their message, glad ,did sing. So ring ye bells, with merry sound, Of Your message, glad and gay, that one matchless gift that came On the first Christmas day. L. G. A. 23. |
