He who goes quietly and serenely about his affairs, doing his utmost to benefit his community, his state, and his nation, is one who is most truly servThere have been great men ing. whose names will live long because of their deeds of valor in their countrys service. There are others who have made splendid contributions to civilization in the way of libraries and other public edifices. These of course are much appreciated, and the praises of the generous people are sung throughout the land. But what of the quiet sort of patriotism? We can be as patriotic in the feeling we have for our school as in our national love, and thereby not only keep up the College standards, but also help to a marked degree, our nation. How can we show the loyalty and patriotism we feel for our school? Of couise we wish her success in all her 20, 1919. contests, Debating, Athletics, etc., with other schools, and will cheer lustily those who are representing But this is not her in these fields. the only way. We can show her by hard, careful work how we appreciate what she has done and is doing for us. We can show our respect by obeying her laws, for if we set law at defiance we strike a blow at the foundation of society. The bulwark of our liberties is the loyalty of citizens, a ready, constant, intelligent obedience.
