Ere long theyll show her, and every one, .fust what they can do by what they have done. Their Colors so true are gieen and white, And these they serve with all their might. 22. Alice Barlow SECOND YEARS the strong and stalwart 21s are unequaled among the classes of the D. N. C. They are the victors in every contest they enter. How gloriously they bore off the honors from the baseball field. Oh! twas great sport to see the jaunty, priggish Juniors struggle and tussle with our picked nine. Even the Freshies and noble Seniors had The Sophomores, no chance for gain with Keith and ' his gang to battle against. The basket ball season is opening, beware Freshies, Juniors, Seniors, Faculty, and even the whole school together, for the Sophomores will corner you, and defeat will be inevitable. The Sophies are the greatest ever. They are sought after by every student in school, especially on such ocand Sophcasions as ie hops. Our parties are jolly successes. So be prepared to join us in frolic in but one week. We have the best parents in school. Father Hafen is the life of the class. He is always ready with new ideas for the officers and encouragement for us all. Mother Scorup would lend dignity to any class, but she is for the Sophies only. Her suggestions are witty, she is certainly pretty, in in fact were quite nitty about Pa and Ma, both. Success is boldly inscribed on our banner. To each Sophomore it is a beacon light burning in the far dis- es tance. With Keith Seegmiller as our worthy president, we are sure to attain this most desired end. Katharine Miles 21. ranks into ours, and the spirit they bring with them is surely fine. You know what it means to Dixie to have these staunch, old students back again. We started in with the right kind of spirit and it would do you good to see the way the Fourth Years and the College hold together and do the work. Honest, the big things we accomplished would make you marvel if you did not know that mother Snow and father Nicholes were backing us. We have to live up to them you know. That puts our aims up high, far above the line of vision of most of us, but you know that old saying about patience and perseverance. School is just full of life since the soldiers came back.
