Show r PIONEER IS SUMMONED William Beal A Prominent Citizen n I of Ephraim Succumbs to Pneumonia Pneumonia r monia After Short Illness William Beal one ono of the pioneers of Ephraim died at 6 G o'clock Tuesday Tuesday Tues Tues- day evening of pneumonia with which I he had been suffering for some time He was the the- son of John and Anna Deacon beacon Beal and aad was born in Onan- Onan dago county New York July 10 1838 He crossed the tho plains with an ox- ox team company and came to Ephraim in hi 1850 being one of the first to settle settle settle set set- tle here Mr Beal took an active part in the Indian wars and helped in tho the defense of the tho fort at this thi place Later he was active in the ing lug of th the community His first wife I died about twenty-five twenty years ago and he afterward afterwards married Katherine Cooper who survives him He leaves I I the following children childr n Andrew Beal John H.
