Show 8C The Salt Lake Tribune, Award-Winni- Tuesday, January 14, 1986 Writer to Lecture at Westminster ng A1 Young is lecturing Writer-poe- t this week at Westminster College of Salt Lake City as the guest of the Christian and Zilpha Beck Days of Inspiration Program and Distinguished Residents Program. An active poet, novelist and scriptwriter, Mr. Young has lectured throughout the United States and abroad. He will speak Tuesday to humanities classes at 8 a m. and 5 30 p.m., in Bamberger Hall Room 107, and in an 11 a m. U.S. history class in Room 110 of Bamberger Hall. Wednesday, Mr. Young will speak at a 9 a m. humanities class in Bamberger Hall, Room 107, and at a simi lar' class at 10 a m. in Room 110 of Bamberger Hall. He will be on hand at a 2 p.m. literature class in Malouf Hall, Room 124 Later Wednesday, Mr. Young will speak on The Impact of Martin Luther King" at a 7 p m. public lecture at Calvary Baptist Church, 532 E. 700 South. This appearance is being sponsored by the Utah Endowment for the Humanities as well as Westminster. Friday, the poet will speak at a 9 a m. sociology class in Malouf Hall, Room 201, and at a 1 p.m. psychology class in Bamberger Hall, Room 107. Mr. Young was raised in the south and in Detroit. He was educated at the University of Michigan and the University of California at Berkeley. He holds a B.A. degree in Spanish. He has taught creative writing and American literature at Stanford Uni- - Mercedes-Ben- z versity, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of California at Santa Cruz and The Colorado College. In Police Lieutenant to Speak on Terrorism Perspectives on Terrorism will be the topic of a lecture by a West Valley City police lieutenant Thursday nightt Westminster College of Salt Lake City. Kim T. Adamson, an alumna of the private college, will speak at 8 p.m. in Converse Hall, Room 19. In addition to her duties with the Police Department, Lt. Adamson is a criminal investigator in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
