Miss Hulda Foreman of Green River, Riv-er, who has been visiting here for several weeks a guest at the Seely home left this week for her home. Dr. J. M. Graham is taking a much-needed much-needed rest, his patients being cared for in his absnce by Dr. Llewellyn, son of Gomer Llewellyn of Ferron. The new doctor may locate permanently perma-nently in the county. Leslie Hickman who has been doing do-ing a record-breaking business for the tntermountain Life Insurance Co. the past month, has returned to his home in Provo. Messrs. Frank Beebe, Peter Tolboe, Ira R. Browning, Carl Wilberg, Louis W. Guymon, Andrew Johansen, Carl Berg, and Hector T. Evans were named as the local delegates to the Democratic Demo-cratic convention at the primary held Tuesday evening. A quartet of Price boys have been mre or less the laughing stock of local lo-cal people the past week during which time they have been hung up here with a broken down rented car. They made their debut here at the fair dance and only made their getaway today. A large number of local people are in attendance at conference at Salt Lake City and taking in the state fair on the side. We have had enough rain here, however, to satisfy us without with-out being a victim to the regular conference con-ference showers in Zion. .With not enough power to pull our machine Thursday evening and with the total supply shut off shortly after noon on Friday when the power company's com-pany's canal broke, the Progress is late as the "juice" was not available again until today at noon. Mrs. R. E. L. Collier of Salt Lake City, state chairman of the Womens Democratic committee, was in the county the latter part of last week directing the preliminaries to the organization or-ganization of womens Woodrow Wilson Wil-son clubs throughout the county. Castledale has two cases of typhoid the first to be known since the installation in-stallation of our waterworks system and these cases have been traced as due to the epidemic raging in Price. Jos. Victor Anderson, the new president of the local Young Mens Mutual Improvement Im-provement association, has under preparation a very interesting program pro-gram for the opening of the season's seas-on's work. The regular weekly meetings meet-ings will be held on Sunday evenings instead of Tuesday for the coming winter. Leroy Taylor of Orangeville is the proud owner of a brandnew Ford car the first 1917 model car to be sold in the county. The sale was made by Alger Bros., of the Midland garage who have been appointed sole agents for the Ford car for Emery county. Incidentally, this enterprising estab lishment has installed a free-air system sys-tem and invite you there when you need your tires pumped up and don't feel like making a steam-thresher of yourself. The Orangeville-Ephraim state road is to have $20,000 spent on it the coming com-ing year and the Iairview-Huntington road will have at least $6000 spent on it according to the requisition made to the federal government from which source half of each amount will be forthcoming. The requisition was made by State Road Engineer Morgan. Mor-gan. Samuel Singleton of Ferron, Mr. and Mrs. A. Brinkerhoff of Emery, J. B. Crawford of Orangeville, and H. H. Oviatt jr. of Elmo were named by the county commission Monday as delegates dele-gates to the Irrigation congress at El Paso, Texas, beginning Oct. 14th. The Elephant Butte' dam near there will be dedicated by Pres. Wilson at the same time. Harden Bennion, Democratic candidate candi-date for secretary of state, Dan B. Shields, candidate for attorney-general; George Christensen, candidate for district judge and Knox Patter-i Patter-i son, candidate for district attorney, will be in the county next Tuesday to hold meetings. All four speakers will be heard in Castledale and Orangeville Or-angeville that evening, the speakers being alternated between these two towns. Paul Hering, the Colorado broncho-buster broncho-buster who has spent the summer in the county and has made a host of friends by his expert riding and manly ways, left this week for Grand Junction Junc-tion where he will ride in a $150 saddle sad-dle contest. He promises to be back here to say howdy to the Wilberg bull which managed to dislodge him at the county fair last Saturday, but just when he will be here he could not say.
