They aid miterially in preventing disease. dis-ease. Very much glass space is undesirable unde-sirable not alone because of the additional addition-al expense and breakage, but it is estimated esti-mated that glass allows about four times as much heat to escape from the building as the ordinary board wall. In this respect it is not much better than the muslin curtain, and on summer days the cuitain may be raised to allow the sun's ra8t) enter without reflection in any direction. Tree Trimming Time The rule is to trim trees at any time during the dormant season, and this is from the time the leaves drop off in the fall until the buds begin to bunt in the spring. The best time, however, is during the months of February and March. One or two general rules should be observed in pruning any tree advises the Horticultural department. Tht limbs should be cut off as close as possible possi-ble to tne remaining stem, and the cut should bo in .1 parallel to the remaining remain-ing stem, o ;n near that as possible, and should always be painted with a lead or creu- i p unt to prevent fun- i gus diseases gaining entrance to ;. & wood.
