Show PROSPECTS EXCELLENT FOR E. S. A. YEAR Xever before have the prospects been better than they are this year for a most successful school year at the Emery Stake Academy. All the teachers of last year will return with the exception of Principal Hickman. Thomas L. Martin, at present at Cornell Cor-nell university, Ithaca, N. T.,has been employed as principal and, from the spirit of his letters, no effort will be spared after his arrival, -to have every ev-ery detail in the school program completed com-pleted so as to start school on September Sep-tember 25th. Principal Martin will arrive here Sept. 1st. The people of Emery county in fact the people of the whole of Eastern East-ern Utah are indeed fortunate to secure se-cure the services of a man like Mr. Martin. He is a graduate from the B. T. U., at Provo, a student of the University of Wyoming, and has now-completed now-completed three semesters of postgraduate post-graduate work at Cornell. Let us all boost with our new principal to have the largest enrollment that we have yet had at this our own home institution insti-tution of learning. ive all owe our whole-souled support to the school. One of the new courses to be added add-ed this year will be that of general agriculture the realization of a long-felt long-felt need in the school. This course will aim to get the student acquainted acquaint-ed with the general field of agriculture, agricul-ture, emphasis being placed upon that phase of agriculture that is of immediate im-mediate interest to the farming communities com-munities of Emery county. The "why" of agricultural activity is particularly par-ticularly emphasized thus resulting in a better understanding of one's environment. en-vironment. The annual announcement for the year 1916-17 is being prepared at the present time and the printing of the same wil be commenced next week in the Progress job department, to be ready the week following.
