Show UTAH POWER AND LIGHT TO OPERATE IN COUNTY The Board of County Commissioners of Emery county met in extra session l.iit Monday. July 26th, to consider the juplic .tion for franchise by the Utah Poiver and Light company, the Hon. Ira R. Browning appearing before the board in behalf of the grantees above named. After due consideration the board granted to the Utah Power and Light company a franchise for a period until July 26, 1965. This franchise allows the company to operate in the unincorporated unincor-porated towns of the county. Franchises Fran-chises have already been acquired from the towns of Huntington, Castledah, a-d Orangeville, and Mr. Browning is now negotiating with the towns of Ferron Fer-ron and Emery. As was stated in last week's paper the company will take over the Orangeville Electric Power & Milling company and the same will be merged into the big company. The central station of the company will be located at Black Hawk, j in Carbon and Emery counties, as the ' poumh.ry line of the two counties run directly through the camp. Light, heat, and power will be given to every town in this county and a most excelled service is guaranteed, as this I company is doing business on a large j scale in the inter-mountain country. Mr Browning is working ardently in behalf of the company and is meeting with success in every case arid the Progress joins with the people i Emery county in the success of the new merger. This, undoubtedly, is the forerunner of other new and big enterprise enter-prise soon to be developed in the most excellent "Kingdom of Emery." |
