Show HILLSTROM MUST PAY PENALTY.; Board of Pardens Denies Application i for Commutation of Sentence. ! Salt Lake City. The state board of pardons on Saturday afternoon at the Utah state prison terminated the re spite granted to Joseph Hillstrom until un-til October 16, and denied application for commutation of sentence to life imprisonment. He will be taken be fore Judge M. L. Ritchie this week for resetting of date of execution. Governor William Spry as chairman of state board of pardons invited anyone any-one who desired to be heard to ap pear before the board and rpake statement. Scren X. Christensen, the only per son appearing for Hillstrom. advise 1 the board he had nothing new to offer which would lend to throw any light on the case. The pardon board was advised by .Vr. Christensen that Hillsirom still! refused to make known the name of; the "woman in the case," saying that j it "was none of their business." |
