Probable That Within Short Time Negotiations Ne-gotiations Will be Begun Looking to the Borrowing of Further Sum of $250,000,000. New York. The $500,000,000 Anglo-French Anglo-French credit loan contract was signed Friday. Three words, "Reading "Read-ing of Erlagh," from a pen in the hand of Lord Reading, chairman of the Anglo-French commission, bound the British empire to its terms. France was bound by the signatures of Octave Homborg and Ernest Mailet, her representatives on the commission. Last of all, J. P. Morgan affixed his name in behalf- of. the American syndicate of underwriters. As many prominent bankers as could be crowded into the board room in the Morgan banking house looked on. There was much enthusiasm. Congratulations were showered upon Mr. Morgan and the members of the commission. Lord Reading thanked the syndicate for their co-operation in accomplishing accomplish-ing his task. Within a couple of months, Lord Reading said, negotiations probabiy will be begun looking toward the creation cre-ation of the supplemental loan already forecast. It is estimated that this loan will be approximately $250,000,000. |
