Show DALE CtTS A SHAKE Castledale played hostess to a healthy sized earthquake shock last Sunday night at about 10:4j o'clock when many of those awake were startled half out of their wits and many of those who were asleep were awakened and startled to boot. The shock only lasted a second or two and was preceded by a rumble like thunder, the direction of which is badly disputed by those who heard it. However, How-ever, every door, window, or other thing about a building that was rattleable was rattled in good shape but no harm that can be learned of was done. The daily papers were carefully scanned scann-ed but no reports of earthquake disturbances distur-bances were chronicled in the dailies and it is presume.! I hat the shock was more or less local. Carbon county scarcely felt it. About forty La Sal people conducted another charivari at that place, Tuesday night, the occasion being the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Day, who were married a week ago in the Salt Lake temple. The charivari was held at the Cunningham ranch, and after the usual tin-can and cow-bell serenade the evening even-ing was spent very pleasantly with s:ngs and games. Mr. and Mrs. Dav promised to give a dance in the school house Saturday. The young couple will make their home at La Sal. The groom was formerly form-erly of Castledale, but for the past two years he has resided at La Sal, where he has a ranch. The bride was formerly former-ly Miss Hazel Wilcox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Wilcox of Moab. She has lived in Moab practically all of her life find was a great favorite with the young folks here. The many friends of Mr and Mrs. Day wish them unlimited married happiness. Moab Times. |
