Show EMERY STAKE ACADEMY Did we know it was cleanup day last Wednesday? Well, you just bet we did and so did the Academy. Inside, ' books were dusted and rearrranged, blackboards were cleaned, and fountains foun-tains scrubbed, while outside the hill ' was all cleaned up until it looked as though it had been swept. In fact, some industrious people did sweep the front of it. Of course this all happened happen-ed before noon, leaving the students to clean up the town in general in the afternoon. "I wish I hadn't eaten so many candies." said a Junior the morning after the night before. (Which said morning happened to be cleanup day at that.) It was all the result of a jolly little candy party on behalf of the Junior class the members of which assembled at the home of Ramona Wall to finish up the remainder of the Easter party. Luckily, the sugar kept very well and made delicious candy. After feasting on candy to their utmost ut-most capacity, they retired to the lawn where, with apologies to the Ellison & White Chautauqua Co., they held a fullfledged chautauqua, displaying the many talents in the class in prepara- ' tion for the show-off during commencement com-mencement week. That reminds us. Do you know that next week is commencement? Tues- ! day night is to be the Senior program, Wednesday night a farewell party for Samuel Zwahlen and Alvin Soderquist, two of our boys who leave soon for the U. S. service. Thursday night is to be the crowning point of the musical activity acti-vity with the presentation of "Robin Hood" in oratorio form. Friday, at 2:30 the final graduating program will be held with a speaker from Provo to give the baccalaureate address, and Friday night the big commencement ' ball will be held. Let's see you here I to have a few days of real enjoyment, i This week the faculty has entertain-I entertain-I ed during devotional periods, giving us i a good lively treat each time. |
