Show NOBLE CHARITY IS THEIRS Women of Methodist Episcopal Church Establish Orphanage to Care for Innocent War Victims. Troiterty for an orphnnage In Grenoble, Greno-ble, France, requiring an expenditure of $35,000, has been purchased by the Woman's Foreign Missionary society of the Methodist Episcopal church, according ac-cording to a statement of Mrs. William Wil-liam Fraser MacDowell, president of the society. Two women have been sent to Fiance to care for this orphanage, or-phanage, where 50 children will be accommodated this year. "The sum of $5,000 has been transmitted trans-mitted to North Africa jfor use in our mission there In the care of French orphans," said Mrs. MacDowell. "The same amount has gone to Italy for the care of Italian children orphaned by the war. AH our organizations have been greatly Interested this year in sending supplies of clothing to France. The cost of the new material used In these supplies is placed at $9,120. It has been a joy to the society to be able to help a little in the cause which j is stirring the hearts of the whole country." |
