Show CASTLEDALE HAS ANOTHER VERY MYSTERIOUS FIRE Castledale doesn't neenri as yet to have had enough fires to last a few months. . Thursday night the old Dale saloon burned to the ground. The fire was first noticed at about one o'clock, but it had gained such headway even then that it was out of the question to try to put out the flames. For some time there was some danger of it spreading, spread-ing, but efficient work applied at th points threatened, checked its progress. Had a wind been blowing it would undoubtedly un-doubtedly have reached some of tht , nearby houses. The orgin of the fire is unknown, and probably never will be known. No one was supposed to be around there as the building has long been vacant. The front part of the building was lined with sawdust, and the fire seems to have had its origin somewhere around the southwest corner. The building was of frame, so that it soon went up. G. W. Brandon, the owner of the building, build-ing, was out of town when it happened and it is not known whether the insurance insur-ance on the building had run out out or not. |
