Show J. E. KING OF FERRON LOSES HIS LEG After months of suffering from what was thought to be rheumatism Brother J. E. King of Ferron lost his leg from the knee at the L. D. S. Hospital where he has been for some weeks past. The doctors say that the mortified condition was not caused by rheumatism as was supposed but was due to some bruise that he received a long time ago. Every effort was made to save the afflicted limb. The first operation was to split the leg and scrape the bone in hopes that it would then heal up and he would finally have the use of his own leg, which although it might have been stiff it would have been better than a cork leg. but all to no avail. The attending physicians say he will improve in health now as soon as he overcomes the natural results of amputation. This is a consolation con-solation but it's a sad thing that Mr. King in his stage of life had to meet j with such misfortune. His son Will and a brother were present at the (operation so we understand. Mr. King ! will leeve the hospital tomorrow (Sunday.) |
