Show OLD BOARD SURRENDERS TO NEW MEMBERS Commissioners Singleton and Larson were present Tuesday morning to do their duty to the last and turn things Over to the new officials. They proceeded pro-ceeded to transact county business until un-til noon when on the motion of Larson the new officials took up the work. D. C. Woodward appeared before the board and tendered a bond as superintendent sup-erintendent of schools which was laid over as a bond filed by Nephi L. Williams Wil-liams had been accepted with a certificate certifi-cate of election attached. The following bonds were accepted . and approved: C. T. Bowen, County Clerk. James B. Crawford, County Commis-missioner. Commis-missioner. L. W. Peterson, County Commissioner. Commission-er. O. Sorenson, Jr., County Treasurer. David H. Wood, County Surveyor. J. H. Killpack, County Assessor. Heber P. Brockbank. Constable, Huntington. Wm. Litster, Justice, Cleveland. Samuel Wells, Justice, Desert Lake. E. J. Grange, Justice, Huntington. J. S. Curtis, Justice, Orangeville. The president of the town board of Green River was instructed to collect damages from parties whose flocks have damaged the approaches to the bridge there. The clerk was instructed to find out if the signs authorized by the commissioners have been placed and to notify deputy road commissioner to see that the same isenforced. The resignation of Peter Nielsen, as bee inspector for the county was accepted. ac-cepted. An inventory of the road tools owned by Emery county made by W. S. Peacock Pea-cock was accepted. The petition for the incorporation of Green Riveras a city of the third class was accepted and the notice ordered printed in the Green River Dispatch according ac-cording to law. The date of the election elec-tion was set for the 7th day of February. Febru-ary. At this point the new board took charge and organized by electing Sam-1 Sam-1 uel Singleton chairman, on motion of Crawford seconded by Peterson. A bill of the Green River bridge contractors con-tractors for extra work to the amount of $60.6 i was rejected as the commis-! commis-! sioners had not authorized the work at an additional cost. , The following appointments were made: Dr. O. E. Coleman, county quarantine quaran-tine physician. E. J. Cook, deputy sheriff at Green River. F. M. Jones, deputy sheriff at Wood-I Wood-I side. Bess C. Bowen, deputy clerk. Wm. Arnold, road commissioner, I Lawrence. Mary O. Sorenson, deputy treasurer, j Doren Perrine, deputy treasurer. The clerk was instructed to file : I claims against other counties for taxes due Emery on transitory herds. Surveyor Wood was instructed to prepare a plan of redisricting the school districts of the county. |
