Show PUBLIC SCHOOL NOTES That pupils, like teachers are glad to resume their school work, is plainly evident evi-dent bv the bright smile that is found on every face. The vacation seems to have been beneficial in restoring vigor and enthusiasm to all except a few, the older ones, yes, and the teachers, who had to take in all the good theaters in Salt Lake City. The pleasant weather this week has made possible out-door recreation for the children which they thoroughly enjoy. en-joy. If you do not believe it just watch them out wading in the mud. The dance given by the school December Dec-ember 23rd proved very successful. Besides affording much enjoyment for the "tots" it has helped out our library with $16.25 worth of good books which will be here soon. We wish to state that the teachers appreciate the good , attendance to the dance, since it will bring within our reach books that are needed in school, also many that will prove entertaining and helpful for any boy who will read them. These books, together with those the trustees have ordered, will go a good ways in ornamenting the empty shelves that now loom up so prominently. Thursday afternoon the boys and girls of Mr. Reynolds' department succeeded in springing on him a pleasant surprise. The girls know well, the surest way to reach his heart, so pies, cakes, apples and other goodies were provided in abundance to please him and the other boys. Trustee Shiner happened in just in time to eat. All the other teachers shared the fun. Dear patrons, remember that most all of you have children here. Come see if the interest you are drawing pays for your investment. A happy and prosperous New Year to all. |
