Show STRAUS MEMORIAL PLANNED FOR UTAH Advice comes from New York that the friends of the late Isador Straus, a victim of the Titanic disaster, are contemplating the establishment of a colony of Jewish emigrants in one of the western states as a memorial to the philanthropist. Although the da-tails da-tails have not been arranged, it is possible pos-sible that Utah will be the state in which the colony is to be established. Mr. Straus was head of the Educational Education-al Alliance, an orgination devoted to the care of Tewish emigrants in this country, offering every opportunity pos-s pos-s ble for the advancement of the American Amer-ican Hebrew. The organization takes charge of them on arrival, protecting them from the land sharks who lie in wait for them at the porta of entry into this country. Schools are maintained to teach them the American language and customs. |
