Show GYMNASIUM AT AGRICULTURAL COLLECE One of the features of th Summer School of the Agricultural College will be the gymnaeiun work. The Thomas Smart Gymnasium will be opened on June 10th, for the first time when the SummerSchool begins. ProfetsorTeetiel will be held at the College during the summer to assist the teachers in organizing organ-izing regular school games. The necessity neces-sity of this work in the lower grades is being felt more and more as we study childs nature. More educational "play" and less indoor grind for the very young is the ideal. Swimming classes will be organized for both men and women who will receive instruction in various gymnasium gym-nasium methods used in the most advanced adva-nced institutions of the country. Negotiations are now under way with some of the most prominent edaoators of the country to be in attendance at the Summer School, for special lecture work to the teachers of theState assembled assem-bled in Logan at this time. The courses as announced by the Committee Com-mittee cover the wideet possible range that will be of Bervice to the teachers of the State. It is stated that the State Board of Education recognizes three Agricultural College credits as equivalent equival-ent to six University of Utah credits because of the fact that the University bases its credits on a half years work instead of a whole year's work and that the College credits are based on a full ' year's work, making the standard of the courses the same, as recognized by the State Board. This year the College will not allow any student to take more than one course if it gives three credits or two courses if they call for one and a half credits each. |
