Show PERRON Alfred, Arthur, and George Barton attended the funeral of their sister who was recently buried at Ferron. Miss Barton has been a constant sufferer suffer-er from lung and heart troubles "for a number of 'years past. She was a highly respected young lady snatched from this earth just 'in the bloom of life. She was to have been married in November to a young man of Ferron. A fathar and four brothers mourn her loss as ,well as many relatives and friends. W. J. Killpack and wife are visiting in Manti. They accompanied their son Llewellyn to Salt Lake City on his way to the Northern states mission. A meeting of the general public of the town was held last Saturday even ing to consider the problem securing more roo.n for the public school children. child-ren. Two teachers in our school have from 60 to 70 pupils which is too many to control to secure the best results. It was strongly urged upon the citizens to build a new building of modern style. There were a few, however, who opposed the building of a new house but there must always be some knocker j. We must progress however in spite of them. Let us have a new building and let it be up to date. Our old school is very dark and inconvenient. inconven-ient. Why not have a cheerful home for our children during the winter? By making school life enjoyable students stu-dents in the grades may be inspired to greater learning. Get in and boost for a better, more attractive, more convenient con-venient building. Our threshing machines are at res dnring these stormy days. Lewis E. Allred attended the sale of Indian lands recently .held at Provo. Mr. Allred with others from here are preparing to locate on the reservation. Frank Olsen and Frank McDonald are home after a summers labor at Price and neighboring camps. Sam Zwahlen is home from Somerset, Somer-set, Colo. C. E. Nielson, our barber is again set up in business in the old beef shop. He is very comfortably located with a good outfit. Mr. Neilson lost his shop and fittings in the W. W. Bryan fire. |
