Show (orrggf L j ORANGEVILLE Santa visited the town again arid left I a number of happy souls. We. thought1 he wasn't coming but on the eve he proved true as usual. " The children enjoyed a nice program and Christmas tree Sunday night, our big blacksmith, Mr. Jensen took his cap and furs and played the role of St. Nick to perfection. The band seren tded the town Christ mas forenoon. A dance was g.ven for the children in the afternoon. During the day the basket-ball team warmed up about thirteen selected members of the large crowd who flocked to the grounds and won a victor over them of about 27 to 4. The men built a fire in main street so that they might keep warm for it seems as though Jack Frost had some husi- ness to transact during the past month. Somebody must have found a spring with the wonderful "step high" flowing out. The dance was well attenlei by all; Uncle "'Rye" was there also. The pulling contest is becoming a fad in the Ville. Sometimes a bit of dispute would arise which perhaps would nave resulted in blows, were it not for the marshal who was always on hand. Some of our s' udents who have been away to Kchool have returned to spend the holidays with their parents and friends. Mr. anil Mrs. Ted Peacock amd Mrs. F. R.
