Show ITEMS HERE AND THERE Picked Up About the Town and Heard From Over the County Items of General Interest to People of Best County in the State LARGE CROWD ENJOYS v CHRISTMAS EVE PROGRAM The local parents class of the Sunday Sun-day school is to be congratulated on the unequaltd success that attended the Christmas tree and program which was given last Sunday evening in the ward house under its auspices. t The has not been such a largely at tended affair given in a long while, and - everyone was more than pai 1 for attending attend-ing the same. Special features of the program were the tableaux representing represent-ing the wise man following the star, the mother and Babe; and Anna, the prophetess. These were nobly represented, represent-ed, by Prin. G. F. Hickman, . as one of the wise men; Hector Evans and wife and the babe of Mr. and Mrs. Orson Madsen representing Joseph and Mary and the Christ Child; and Mrs. Carrie O. Larsen, who impersonated Anna the prophetess. Papa and Mamm Santa Claus both paid a visit to the gathered children, before their hurried visit to separate home and were most kind to old and young alike. The people generally contributed well , for the occasion but even? then, enough was not provided -to supply the large number present with the usual bag of: 1 sweets, so that some were necessa ily "forgotten in the distribution of Santa's . store. There were nearly 650 present at the gathering, and it taxed the building build-ing to its capacity - to house the huge gathering. Standing room was at a premium and many occupied the hall without.
