The following will be found an excellent ex-cellent recip'.' for gweet pickles ma(J with ripe cucumbers: Pare and quarter quar-ter the cucumbers, removing ail the seed; cover with aalt and water and let them stand over eight; then drain and boll in good cider vinegar; when tender remove the vinegar and place la jars. Make a sirup of one quart of vinegar, one heaping coffee cupful of ugar and one tablespoonfu) of cinnamon, cinna-mon, half a tablespoonful of cloves, half a teasponful of cayenne pepper. Boil 20 minutes and turn while hot over the pickles. |
