Show ! CASTLEDALE WARD S. S. CONFERENCE : The Castledale Sunday School held theirward conference lastSunday, Aug. 20th. Supt. D. C. Woodward, Secre- ! tary-Treasurer Maud ' Wakefield and A. E. Wall, Jr. and Emma Anderson of the stake board were present. ! Conference commenced at 10 a. m. , J. W. Lake of the local superintendency : presiding. A. E. Wall, Sr., Maud Wakefield, A. E. Wall, Jr. and D. C. Woodward made short remarks on Sabbath School work, after which a song was rendered by the kindergarten ' department and a recitation by Vera Acord, song by Remona Wall, a class review exercise and a short sketch of : church history by Mabel Seely were , given as representing the several departments. The afternoon session began at I o'clock, Supt. Ai.drew Larsen presiding. S. A. Harris gave a splendid talk on the needs for and results of the parents' class in the Sabbath School. There are no journals on the rearing of children 1 as there are on every other occupation, and the mother must study this subject out for herself. No parent can enter the Kingdom of Heaven so long as one child remains astray from their negligence. negli-gence. As Lew Wallace has said, "God couldn't be everywhere so He gave '. mothers." Dyches : spoke on the sin abounding in Salt Lake I City, saying that parents should keep i their children away from there. The ! general Sunday School authorities were ! next sustained and the local superinten-! superinten-! dency reorganized as follows: J. W.Lake superintendent, Hyrum Rasmussen, first assistant and Aephi Williams, second assistant. Sunday evening was devoted co reorganizing reor-ganizing the Mutual Improvement Associations. As-sociations. Mary Brasher, Christian Mortensen, May Elder, John Pearson, Kate . Mathie, Nephi Williams and Louis Oveson each spoke for a short time on the work in hand. A reading by Oral Kofford and a song by Emma Anderson were also given. The following follow-ing were sustained as officers in the Young Ladies association: President, Mabel Seely, Counselors, Sydonia Gould and Stella Seely; secretary, Diantha Peterson. The following are the officers of the Young Mens association: Carl Berg, president; counselors, Rastus Larsen and Frank Reynolds, Jr., secretary, secre-tary, Leo Peterson. |
