Montgomery Mont-gomery of Sal: Lake made the t up with the party. The former is the srer.i d agent for the J. I. Case automobile, and used one of these cars on the trip, securing excellent results. Dr. Graham and Wm. Richardson in the former's car, represented Ferron, and Messrs. J. W. Nixon, J. H. Jillpack, a id Peter Nieison, represented Huntington Hunt-ington in the Miller, car, driven by young Vertis Miller. , Messrs. A. D. Dickson, James Jeffs, Emery Larsen and Henry Thompson made the trip from Castledale in the Dickson car. At a meeting of Salina-Castledale enthusiasts held in the court house yesterday the proposition of working up a ren wed interest f or the Sahna rou;e was taken up and discussed thoroughly. tho-roughly. It was found that arrangements are now hi .ing made to put up good, substantial sub-stantial sign boards along cn'e route and also directions to nearest places for securing water supplies. There sva3 also a Good Roads movement move-ment started, and resolutions were made and passed, favoring the calling of a big meeting of all interested in good roads in the whole southerly part of tun state, same to be made by the people of Salina and the meeting to be helJ there during the early part of August. Stale, county and town officials of-ficials will all be invited and it is expected ex-pected that a rousing big crowd ot delegates dele-gates will be present. Sevier, Sanpete. Juab, Utah and Emery counties will be specially invited to take part in the , movement. I 7 j When it comes to look to the ad-, ad-, vantages we have gained, they appear ' almost endless, notwithstanding the ! fact that we didn't secure this present jlnfii,. e have an official log of the Salina-Green Salina-Green River and Green River-Salina loutes, made by W. D. Rishel, the re-c re-c enized champion log maker of the Uockv Mountain region, an I this log '.wll be published in the Salt Lake - ribune and al.-o incorpor ! ted in automobile auto-mobile guide hooks throughout the .nun try. Another adva itage we have gained is the s'.ate and country-wide favorable notoriety we have won for the Salina mite; its various advantages having been he-reeled in every direction. - Again we have roads that will, when a litcle more weather-worn, equal those of any section of the state, and in an-o an-o her year an automobile will be able : co make at least twenty miles an hour j over any and all parts of the road be-it be-it veeti Green River and Salina. Plans ' are already underway for the establish-I establish-I rni'iit of a telephone line between Castled Cas-tled tie and Green River that some ot . tivt dis idvania-e.es from the lack of habi-1 habi-1 tationson the stretch may L. overcome ; ai d Sevier people promise the same for ; Salina i anyon. Another big advantage is the .vhole- soulcd unity existing between all of the j material town-; of the county on the paramount question. This is a thing ! that may be mo t highly prized. At the same time we have the genuine support sup-port of the counties affected over the j rn untain, as is evidenced by their com-j com-j ing to join with us. This is another j thing to be desired, as we are assured j of their efforts in favor of any legisla- tion that may be brought about at any time. |
