Miss Eva Bailey returned this week to Salt Lake where she is studying music. Miss Perl Thorpe left Sunday for Richfield where she will visit for several sev-eral days. A. W. Jensen returned Sunday from a business trip to Ogden and Salt Lake. Mrs. Edwin Johansen was hostess to a number of friends laBt Thursday evening. Hugh McCafferty left Sunday for California after spending several days in Ephraim. Miss Ethel Christensen was hostess to several of her girl friends last Sunday evening. Mrs. Anthon Christensen entertained a number of her l?dy friends Thursday afternoon. Emilius Christensen is transacting I business in Salt Lake City during the latter part of this week. Mrs. Augusta Stevens of Salt Lake is visiting in Ephraim Mrs. Stevens was a citizen of this place for many years. Martha C. Olsen & Sons shipped a car of registered cattle Friday that were sold to a man from Randolph, Utah. Thomas P. Thompson was pleasantly surprised by a number of his friends Wednesday, on his fiftieth anniversary. Miss Elvin Olsen entertained last Saturday eveuing in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Miller and Andy Nielson of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Marie Jensen was surprised last Wednesday evening by a number of her neighbors and friends. A pleasant pleas-ant evening was spent. Mrs. Jennie Hansen entertained the officers of the South ward Primary association last Tuesday evening. Refreshments Re-freshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Wilkrdson have announced tne marriage of their daughter daugh-ter LaPriel and Fred W. Tuttle on Thursday, February 15, 1912. Members of the south ward relief society gave Mr. and Mrs. William Parrish a pleasant surprise Thursday evening. The evening was spent in music and games. Miss Luella Christensen pleasantly entertained several of her young lady friends at a birthday party last Sunday evening. The house was beautifully decorated for the occasion. An elaborate elabor-ate dinner was served. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Hanson gave an enjoyable party last week in honor of the twentieth anniversary of their marriage. About fifty of their relatives rela-tives and friends were present. An elaborate dinner was served. I MantI W. W. Crawford started to Ljin Wednesday to attend a horticultural roundup. He was accompanied by his daughter, Miss Kate. Wednesday evening at the Armada a number of people met for the purpose of rehersing the old time dances. W. G. Hoggaii returned from California Cali-fornia Saturday, leaving his uncle very low. He visited Oakland, Sacramento ' and San Francisco while there and is j of course delighted with the Golden : State. He was accompanied from Salt ' Lake by T. A. Hoggan who will in the 1 future spend the winter season in Cali- 1 fornia. Mrs. M. E. Meecham of the Eagle House, has leased the hjtel to a Mrs. Smith who formerly run a hotel in Bingham. The lease is for five years and under its provisions Mrs. Meecham is at liberty to sell the property at any time during the life of the lease. Mrs. Smith was in Manti several days the past week. She will take posession March 1st. Mr. and Mrs. Quince Crawford entertained en-tertained at cards last Wednesday evening, H. R Clark and Mrs. Woolley winning first prizes and Judge Christensen Chris-tensen and Mrs. Kerr the booby prizes. ! I Miss Mabel Parry has been suffering ' from a severe case of neuralgia and 1 unable to sing at the Theater a part of thia week. Arthur Braithwaite who was operat" ed on in Salt Lake last week for appendicitis, ap-pendicitis, died Tuesday night at the hospital. The remains were brought home Wednesday and the funeral was held at the Tabernacle. |
