A social was arranged for I on Friday the 17th and J. W. Nixon and W. H. Leonard selected to attend the State Development League meeting at Salt Lake. T. B. Vaughn came over from Dragon the first of the week and has been buying buy-ing cattle. He is paying good prices as can be seen by his ad in this paper. He is going back to Dragon today but will be back soon and buy up a good lot of yearlings. Sam'l Singleton and son, Morris, went to Salt Lake Tuesday where Morris will 3ubmit to an operation and Mr. Singleton Single-ton will look after some business and see what help he can render W. J. See-ly See-ly in securing an appropriation for Emery county roads. E. D. Leavitt made a better fellow than usual of himself Monday night and treated the people to a free picture show. To say that it was a success is using too mild a term all the old folks came to bring their children. Some say there were over 400 in attendance. Go to Nixon's for all kind of garden and field seeds. Big supply on hand. The Castledale Commercial Club wil be represented at the State Development Develop-ment League by Representative VV. J. Seely and Dr. F. Tinges. The hill on the road to the bench was thoroughly worked down this week and the low place at the foot filled up. It was all for the good of the cause and the enterprising "individuals who put in ; a couple of days there deserve more ' credit than they will get for it. ! Wm. J., Carl, and Miss Stella Seely 1 came home Saturday. Carl and Miss Stella had been at Provo where Carl had his hand treated. He still has a very bad hand but has reason to hope that it is in a fair way to entirely recover. re-cover. Wm. J. came to visit friends and see a fe.v people as to his work in the legislature. He went back Monday j morning. , ! VV. E. King is making an effort to build up the live stock of the valley and to help grade up the poultry. He has recently received some of the best roosters obtainable and is going to have both eggs and chicks for sale. It pavs to get good stuff as they eat no more and are no more trouble than poor ones, yet the results are much better. Notice his ad elsewhere. The Castledale justice court is not out of business yet. Carl Wilberg was tried Tuesday for disturbing the peace, V. L. Olsen deing trie complaining witness. wit-ness. He was found guilty, but when court convened next day for sentence a motion for a new trial prevailed and the matter will be heard aain later. G. W. Brandon was tried again yesterday being a second hearing on an assault charge. It was a jury trial this time and resulted in acquittal. These trials attract considerable attention. The Castledale Dramatic Company will present to the public of -Castledale next Thursday evening the thrilling and patriotic drama "Freedom of Cub i." The play has an excellent dramatiz ition j and the caste is a good one, and the drama has been well rehearsed, assuring assur-ing lue public a rare treat. There will be new scenery, new costumes and j specialties between the acts. The i drama is full of thrilling scenes, spiced with oceans of comedy. Come out and enjoy an evening's good entertainment 1 and help a good cause as the proceeds go for the benefit of the Sunday School, and they are much in need of money. There will be a matinee for the children in the afternoon with an admission of 10c each, if adults desire to attend they I will be admitted for 25c a couple.
