Show MANTI ELECTRICIAN DIES IN SALT LAKE Staneiy Crawford, 32 years old, one of the leading business men of Manti, died at Judge Mercy hospital Thursday afternoon, after-noon, following an operation for appendicitis. appendi-citis. The body was taken to Manti Sunday for burial. Mr. Crawford was born in Manti January Jan-uary 6, 1870. Hi graduated from the public schools in 18 i. H ' later attended attend-ed the agricultural college at Log in, taking the electrical engineering course, in which he was graduated He ;vas a member of the college football team ami was popular with his classmates. He was active in the work of constructing construct-ing electrical plants for various small towns in the southern p irt of the state. He built the Lig Springs Electric company's com-pany's plant at Fountain Green, which supplies power and light for thatsettle-' thatsettle-' mt'i'.t and for Moroni. He also erected , the power and light plant for Nephi 1 City; a similar plant for Beaver City land another for the Salmi Light and ; Milling company. Mr. Crawford lat.r installed the new plant for the Spring City Light and Milling Mill-ing company, and established an inde-: inde-: pendent telephone system of the common battery type for the Manti Telephone company. He then built two electric i plants for the Cedar City Ligii: and ! Power company at Cedar City and at Parowan. He and his brother Edmond founded the Crawford Poultry farm at Manti. |
